School Rejects Melania’s Book Donation

An elementary school librarian in Massachusetts rejected a donation made by First Lady Melania Trump to her school’s library.

CBS Boston reports that Cambridgeport Elementary School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, was one of a select number of schools chosen by the White House to receive ten Dr. Seuss books for National Read a Book Day.

The White House chose one school from each state to send the books.

Liz Phipps Soeiro, Cambridgeport Elementary’s school librarian, penned an editorial for the Horn Book Family Reading Blog explaining why she would not accept the first lady’s gift.

“My students have access to a school library with over nine thousand volumes and a librarian with a graduate degree in library science. Multiple studies show that schools with professionally staffed libraries improve student performance,” wrote Phipps Soeiro.

Phipps Soeiro added that her school “does not have a need for these books” while claiming that underfunded school districts who are shutting down their libraries due to school choice programs could put the books to better use.

But her critique of the first lady’s gift did not end there. She also criticized Melania’s choice of books, calling the Dr. Seuss titles “tired cliches” for children’s literature.

Nothing changes, ever! This is a state that re-elected a falling-down Drunk as their Senator for years and now has a Senator who has the brain of a fence post! Of course they don’t need books from the First Lady of the United States, after all, they are Liberals and they “don’t need no nasty books” from a Republican!

These lefties never amaze me at all. They would eat their own. They have as much sense as a rock does. That’s okay we don’t need them anyway. It is nothing but sheer jealousy on the Librian’s part. She is jealous that we have a real First Lady in our White House unlike the former. I bet the Liberian looks exactly like Michelle Obama if you get my drift. The more these lefties act like they do the more people love Trump and Melania! If you don’t believe me just ask the NFL how they are fairing these days. Go Trump go! Give the Left what for!!!

If the books were giving praise to transgender or gay lifestyles they would have been accepted in a New York minute!

Simple translation unless the books fit into or promote the indoctrination the school is performing upon the students they do not want them available to the students.

These self-righteous elitist liberal/progressive sociopaths like this librarian sit in judgment of everybody with whom they don’t agree. She needs to be reminded that she is a civil servant paid by taxpayer’s money and her hatemongering far left liberal politics are detriment to the children in her school. Normal human decency is that one would never be that rude to anyone let alone the First Lady of the United States of America. Melania Trump is a beautiful, classy, well educated woman who speaks six languages fluently, had a career and her own successful business before she ever met President Trump so it’s obviously nothing but jealousy from this librarian that is making her so utterly disgustingly rude. This librarian is a perfect example of why there has to be school choice in which parents can select a school for their children to attend which would not have people like the librarian negatively influencing their innocent mines in any way.

Jealousy is a terrible thing..I’m sure the librarian is a hag..It seems one reason Mrs Trump is disliked is because she is so attractive…

For the librarian..STUPID is as STUPID does…Everyone loves these books

I am a retired professional librarian. During my career, I served in public, academic, and special libraries. Most libraries welcome gifts, as long as the materials are appropriate for their collection and are in satisfactory condition. If the library already has a book, that gift can be donated to another library — it’s called “sharing resources” — or it can be placed in the library’s book sale, which most libraries have. This Massachusetts librarian may have a master’s degree, but she lacks tact and common sense. I believe that her action was political, her response was ungracious, and her “librarianship” [or lack thereof] was damaging to her school and her students.
