People Don’t Like Trumps New Gun Stance

Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) stated that President Trump “misspoke” when he stated “take the guns first, go through due process second” at a meeting regarding gun laws.

Flake stated, “Trump’s leadership here is really critical if it’s going to get through the House or Senate. We had a similar meeting on immigration that I was at. And we heard a lot of good things that Tuesday and by Thursday, a lot of it had been walked back. I hope this time and I do think there is a better chance this time that the president will lead. And really get out from this, and there are a couple of items that we can make progress on.”

“Most remarkable was his statement on due process. Anything that we have introduced in the Congress respects due process. You have to do that. And people around the table were kind of shaking their heads. But you can chalk that up to just he misspoke and let’s move ahead.”

    ’nuff said…

I knew his original stance on “assault weapons” and waiting periods. I had hoped he had gotten wiser in the 18 years since he wrote The America We Deserve, but apparently not. Thanks a shitpile, Trump.

Exactly! The Rump has always been a liberal, and now, the foolish ones who supported the liar are realizing their mistake. Ted Cruz was the only acceptable choice, more than acceptable!

I don’t think Trump misspoke. I think that he changed his opinion partly because of the way the media presented the massacre to the public and partly because the students and teachers deaths affected him personally. I think after the NRA presented him with the facts in the case he realized that his earlier comment was not the way to deal with this. Unfortunately, the democrats will be using this sound bite against him in 2020 as someone who doesn’t respect the constitution, even though they don’t either.

That school shooting was doe solely to a great failure of the Government. The system did not fail. The Government, at all levels, failed, and most at fault was the Democrap run Broward County Sheriff’s office. They should be held accountable. Punishing innocent people will not have any effect.

President Trump is good at misleading his opponents and a “misspeak” by him has a design behind it. Wait and see is the best assumption.

I firmly disagree with his decision to “outlaw” the sale of Bump Stocks (correct nomenclature is “Slide Fire Stock”) because I learned to ‘bump fire” with a Remington Model 550, .22 Caliber Semiautomatic in 1955 by hooking my thumb in my belt loop, locking my finger and not grasping the stock. The same technique can be used at the shoulder.

If that kid in Florida had used a 100-round drum, utilized either the belt loop or the the shoulder technique, there would have been dozens killed and dozens wounded. Thank God that he didn’t.

That bump stock worked in Las Vegas because there we thousands of people confined in a small area. Inside a school, even when the halls are full wouldn’t work so well because bump stocks seriously degrade the ability to aim rounds,

THEY NEED STRONGER BACKGROUND CHECKS, ALL THE DEMOCRAPS WANT TO DO IS DISARM ALL OF US, I WANT TO SEE PELOSI AND THE RETARDS LIKE MAXINE WATERS AND A FEW OTHERS TO WALK INTO HI GANG AREAS AND START TRYING TO TAKE THEIR GUNS, THEY WOULD START DRAINING THE SWAMP AND TRUMP WOULD NOT HAVE TO RAISE A FINGER…

The only gun control I want him talking about is what he said on the campaign. I will end gun free zones. We will have national reciprirecy on CCW and I will want suppressors off the NFA list.

  • peter

Gun control is having capable people handle protecting others in gun free zones by engaging those mental cases with guns. In Florida’s case the FBI and the local sheriffs failed miserably..

I wish the Deep State would take Jeff Flake off the media roster and let him clean toilets or something.

Seattle just took the gun away from a man who the neighbors felt threatened by. Was it a good move or the start of a slippery slope? After all, most of us see progressivism as a mental disorder, and progressive think the same about us. Are we to be reduced to knives, trucks, suicide belts, sticks and rocks?

So, one of the biggest never-Trumpers is defending Trump??? Sounds REALLY fishy to me….

  • I am not a mind reader nor do I know how the president thinks or what he intends to do, hopefully it. Will be positive and what’s best for the nation. I truly hope he takes down the no guns stupid signs as criminals pick that area to kill innocent people because they know that most likely they will be unharmed and would not cause a treat to their plans failing or the citizen killing them before they carry out their crime. Also it takes a long time before the police gets their if they can skip their free donut break, after all their is tomorrow and they can get fatter the next day gougeing down donuts.
