Border Patrol agents have one mission: To protect the American people by acting as the first line of defense along the nation’s perimeter.
For years, the previous presidential administration tied the hands of those agents and made it almost impossible for them to do their jobs.
If new statistics are any indication, however, those days are over — and the Border Patrol is finally able to carry out the mission they signed up to do.
According to Breitbart News, the number of apprehensions along the U.S. and Mexico border has gone up for the fourth month in a row.
“In August, Border Patrol agents apprehended 22,293 illegal aliens who crossed the southwestern border from Mexico,” reported Breitbart. “This is up from July’s total of 18,190 and represents an increase of 22.56 percent, according to information obtained from U.S. Customs and Border Protection.”
Border Patrol agents are detaining dramatically more illegal aliens, which means fewer criminals entering the country.
