The Republican National Convention began with full swing on Monday with lots of excitement. The last attempt by the “Never Trump” crowd to stop him failed badly. The speakers during the prime time were epic! One of the speakers was the Former Navy SEAL, Marcus Luttrell who inspired the book and film called “Lone Survivor”. He gave a very passionate speech about protecting America and securing Veterans’ rights.
Interestingly, he spoke from a teleprompter, a standing speaking etiquette for the convention, but according to Breitbart, he went off script at one point and started speaking from his heart.
What he had to say was quite powerful and should have made the politicians squirm in their chairs as his remarks were directed at politicians in both parties:
“Hold them accountable for every position and office they hold. Either way, the only way we survive this is together, not apart. The only way for life to matter is if every life matters.”
A chunk of Trump’s popularity has been his inclination towards bringing down corruption in both parties. Many republican elites dislike Trump because has the guts to point them out and say that they haven’t done enough to stand up for the American people. The last thing these politicians want is to be held accountable and that is exactly what the American people want. Luttrell also said:
“To the next generation, your war is here, you don’t have to find it. Who among you will love something more than you love yourself? I challenge all of you to fight for this country and each and every one of us.”
Did you also find his remarks more powerful than just about anything politicians read from he teleprompter? They came from the heart after all. Share this post and let us know what you think.
